Sentinel Privacy Policy

Last updated September 4, 2026

Sentinel is a market-intelligence terminal available on the web, iOS, and macOS, built and operated by an individual developer (Prateek Kher). This policy explains what data the service touches, why, and how you can control it.

Accounts & sign-in

You can create a Sentinel account with Sign in with Apple. From Apple we receive a stable anonymous user identifier and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address (which may be Apple's private relay address). We use these only to create your account, show your name in the app, and link your subscription to you. We never receive your Apple ID password.

A small number of people use Sentinel through an operator-issued access key or an allow-listed Google account instead. For Google sign-in we receive your email address and name from Google to check the allow-list and display your name; we do not access your Google contacts, files, or any other Google data.

Subscriptions & payments

Sentinel Pro is an auto-renewable subscription purchased through Apple's App Store (in-app purchase on iOS). Apple processes the payment; we never see your card or bank details. To recognise your subscription across devices we store the App Store transaction identifiers, product, status, and expiry that Apple sends us, tied to your account. You can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings (Settings › your name › Subscriptions). Apple's standard licensed application end-user license agreement applies to the apps.

What we collect

We do not collect financial account information, card details, or government ID numbers.

What we don't do

Third-party services

Sentinel relies on infrastructure and data providers to operate: Apple (Sign in with Apple and App Store subscriptions), Railway (hosting and database), Google (optional sign-in), Anthropic (the AI assistant), Sentry (crash reporting), and market/news data providers (including Finnhub, Twelve Data, FRED, Yahoo Finance, Binance, and CoinGecko). Each processes the minimum data needed to fulfil its function (for example, your question text is sent to Anthropic to generate an AI answer). If you opt into Telegram alerts, message delivery is handled by Telegram.

Data retention & deleting your account

Account, session, and subscription records are kept while your account exists. You can delete your account from inside the iOS app (More › Delete Account), which permanently removes your account, sessions, and subscription record from our servers. Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings. Server logs and crash reports are retained for up to 90 days. You can also request access to or deletion of your data by email (see Contact).

Children

Sentinel is not directed at children and is not knowingly used by anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "Last updated" date above will change. Continued use of Sentinel after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
